Good Friends and a New Toy

Posted on June 3rd, 2022

Unlike the days I have had in the past, today and the next couple of days will be centered around friends and family. Being that I will be moving across the country soon, I have to make the most out the time I have with them.

Today I got to see some friends that I have dealy missed. Some of them will be starting their journey in the real world as they recently graduated, and then the other will be returning to school to finish his degree. Ultimately, I truly don't know when I will see them again, but I hope it is sooner than later.

As I went to Houston to visit them, I thought I would take advantage of it. I was able to go to the mall to get some new clothes along with taking a trip to MicroCenter, the home of all things electronic.

Good Friends

Houston, Texas. Home to amazing food and practically all of Texas A&M students, including my closest friends. In visiting them, I thought there would be no better place to gather than some good ole Korean BBQ. We talked about our futures, some fond memories, and laughed over some good jokes. I truly am going to miss these guys

My New Toy

3D printers have always fascinated me. Having some raw material turned into anything your imagination can fathom is something that I know will shape our future in the years to come. Today I was able to pick up my second 3D printer. This one however, uses a PLA plastic instead of SLA. For those that are not familiar, SLA printers use resin that when exposed to a specific wavelength of light, it hardens. Using a LCD that emits the specific wavelength, the printer is able create an object in a layer by layer format. The new printer I got uses a PLA plastic that has a relatively low melting temperature. With this a 3 dimensional gantry system is able to heat and extrude the plastic in a specif manner layer by layer until it is completed.

Although I loved my first printer, this new printer has a larger printing capacity to where I can print much larger things. I can't wait to see what comes out of it.

Habit Tracking

Today, I did not do a lot of my normal habits but it was still a good day.

What I am thankful for

I am thankful for the friends I have met during my time at Texas A&M. You all made everything worth it.
